Ireland taking advantage of cloud computing, minister says
Thousands of jobs could follow because of cloud adoption.
That is according to Richard Bruton, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, who told the Cloud Capital Forum that Ireland is leading the way with the new technology.
He is quoted by Silicon Republic as saying that tens of thousands of jobs could follow in the country in the next few years as more businesses adopt cloud as a resource.
"This is an important opportunity for a country like Ireland," he told the audience.
"Cloud computing is opening up radical new thinking about what it is to serve your customers, the information you can collect, manipulate and be alert to trends and build long-term relationships. It is leading to a massive transformation in business."
Elsewhere in the technology sector, Electronic Arts announces in September that it will be creating 300 new jobs in Galway as part of its expansion plans.
