Facebook to recruit 100 workers in Ireland

Ireland's technology sector is continuing to expand with news that Facebook will be recruiting another 100 workers in the country.

The social media giant is looking to increase its headcount in Dublin to 500 with new roles in advertising, safety and user operations.

And this could also rub off on small businesses as the country builds its reputation as a technology hub, attracting additional investment and expertise.

Facebook Ireland head of office Gareth Lambe explained: "Ireland is a great hub of international tech talent which is one reason why Facebook has its international HQ in Dublin.

"These jobs, which reflect growth in markets across Europe but also the Middle East and Africa, mean we will not only be recruiting from the local economy but supporting local businesses by increasing our footprint."

Last week, eBay confirmed that it will be adding another 450 workers to its Dundalk operations centre in the coming months.
