Ireland has been praised for the quality of its workers after online retailer eBay announced it will be creating another 450 jobs in the country.

In news that it is likely to boost the local economy, the firm said that it will be making Dundalk its operations centre to help boost European customer service.

And with more larger firms expanding their presence in Ireland, small businesses could also see a benefit as success often breeds success.

IDA Ireland Chief Executive Barry O'Leary explained: "The announcement of a further investment by eBay Inc in Ireland demonstrates Ireland’s capability at the core of the digital economy and further secures our reputation as the internet capital of Europe.

"The scale of the investment in a key regional location is a strategic win for Ireland and it demonstrates the confidence a global leader such as eBay has in Ireland."

Meanwhile, clouding computing job numbers are set to rise in Ireland, with 65 per cent of firms saying they will recruit people in these roles in the coming years.
