The annual deadline for filling your income tax return is October 31st and so it is true to say that this deadline has passed. If you have missed that deadline and not yet file your 2018 income tax return then there is some good news for you …

Revenue offer an extension to the filing deadline where you file your return and make any payments due using Revenue Online Services (ROS). For those people who file their 2018 income tax return and make any payments due using ROS the deadline is extended to Tuesday November 12th 2019.

You must register as soon as possible for ROS at www.ros.ie. Alternatively, you can appoint an accountant to act on your behalf and send in returns online for you.

Keep in mind that you need to be registered with the Revenue to file online and during tax return season, when the Revenue are busy, this can take a few days so the sooner you begin the registration process the better.
