MGS.Mfg Group to create 150 roles in Leixlip

Up to 150 new positions are to be created in Leixlip over the next year as a plastics company expands its operations in Ireland.

MGS.Mfg Group will be creating a manufacturing centre in the town so that it can increase its dealings with the rest of Europe.

Furthermore, it will be investing $12 million (€9.12 million) in its new location over the next three years in what is likely to be a boost for other small businesses in the area.

Michael Cummins, general manager of MGS.Mfg, said that "now is the right time" to expand the company's presence in the area.

"This facility will support our high-end customer base in both Ireland, where Hewlett-Packard manufacturing operations are one of MGS's key partners, and other European markets," he added.

"We are pleased with the talented workforce in the region and to join the many premier multinational companies that call Ireland home."

It comes after IT security firm Mandiant said it would be adding another 100 jobs to Dublin's labour market in the coming months.
